Implementing psychological support sessions for girls in the northern Gaza Strip

The Cooperative Association for Saving and Lending for Projects that Generate Income for Women, in partnership with the Aisha Association for the Protection of Women and Children, implemented a series of awareness-raising and psychosocial support sessions on early marriage in the Gaza Strip, where the Aisha Association for the Protection of Women and Children implemented group awareness sessions and psychosocial support sessions within the project “Reducing Marriage.” Early Childhood Girls in the Gaza Strip by promoting their rights and empowering them to become catalysts for change in their societies, “funded by the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation and implemented in the Gaza and North Gaza governorates.

The sessions deal with different topics such as violence and gender-based violence, early marriage, self-care, and others, with the aim of spreading awareness and strengthening the capacities of girls in addition to facilitating their access to various services such as health, education and legal services.

These sessions target girls in the age group (14-17) in the North Gaza governorate, so that each girl participates in 10 awareness sessions. The sessions include a number of activities that contribute to creating a comfortable environment that helps in the delivery of information.
